With just over 1150 pizza restaurants in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex, deciding where to go out for pizza, is nearly an impossible assignment. For the past 6 years I have found myself on Friday night performing Google searches for “Best Pizza in Dallas” at nauseam. However this search results in +309,000 websites and links which lead you down an endless path of yelp!, Urbanspoon, Citysearch, Chowhound, etc... I had been hoping for a one stop website that was the authority for pizza in DFW! I thought since I can’t find it, why don’t I make one instead?
Which brings us to where we are today...
There is only one week left in 2010, and I am on the brink of what will become the 2011 DFW pizza adventure. Over the next 52 weeks, I will be taking the family (my wife and 2 toddler daughters) to a different pizza restaurant in the Metroplex every week. At which point, we will attempt to provide an unbiased report of our destination and post it to “The Deep Dish” pizza blog.
Our process will be simple in order to stay consistent and avoid any confusion. We will order the basic cheese pizza as the “control pizza,” and also the house favorite/special. The review will provide our opinions of the location, service, and of course - the pizza (Plus any great tales along the way).
You might be asking yourselves: Who do you think you are, and what makes you the “pizza experts?” My answer is simple... We really like pizza. You are right, neither of us graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. We just wanted to try some new pizza locations in Dallas/Ft. Worth this year, and thought we would invite you to join us.
Our adventure begins the first week of January!... unless we crave pizza before then...
You are a pizza expert. I think you immediately gained expert status when you said "We really like pizza".
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading your reviews (and with your permission) I'd like to add some of your comments to my website, Pizza Therapy.
